Aquaculture Floating Cages
The consolidated experience in the production of the aquaculture floating cages, has allowed us to promptly and functionally all specific demands of each client.
The Aquaculture Floating Cages manufactured by us, include all the necessary devices to ensure that the structure is more stable and capable to absorb sea solicitations.
This typology of cages for aquaculture are perfect for sea fish farming, close to the coast, and in areas protected from strong currents.
The floating cages are made by first quality, in-house produced nettings which are positioned into semi rigid structures, supported by buoyant facilities which maintain all the cage.
All the ropes of the structure are sewed with a double stitching pass to the nettings of the cage, guaranteeing high solidity to the structure.
These seams are executed through a professional sewing machine, after the manual assembly of the nettings, facilitating the perfection and precision achieved in our final product.
Reinforcement mesh of Aquaculture Floating Cages:
One of the most worn-out points in the floating cages are at the waterline. At the point of correspondence of the buoyancy, the stresses produced by the movements of the water are added to the effects of the sun with its UV / UVA / UVB rays. The nets of the vertical wall of the floating cages therefore in this specific point are amply stressed by the continuous alternation of sea water and solar radiation which cause it to wear out quickly, compared to the other parts that make up the cage for fish farming.
To overcome this problem, a double net is sewn on request, called a “sacrificial net” or even a simply reinforcement net.
This second reinforcement net then overlaps the main net used for the construction of the floating cages, (usually it is installed about one meter above and one meter below the rope that identifies the waterline of the cage structure).
The use of reinforcing nets guarantees greater strength and strength to the entire structure over time.
The cages can be personalized in numerous diversifications:
On the superior horizontal structure:
buttonholes with splicing and sketching can be added . They are positioned at the start of the circumference ropes , to facilitate the connection with the buoyant structure, with the top line also called ‘handrail line’.
Moreover, on request we can install a sacrificial netting in correspondence to the floating line, to protect the structure in its points of greatest stress.
Regarding the vertical structure
The number of installations of the vertical ropes into the structure depend on personal demands. Moreover, they are characterized by a careful positioning, by respecting the right distances, and by corresponding the vertical ropes to the base points of the structure.
Plus, on the vertical ropes buttonholes installation can be added, to be utilized as aids for the submerged weights.
On the horizontal side:
Depending on the height of the requested cage, integrative perimetral ropes are installed, besides those of the buoyant ‘top’ and of the bottom of the cage.
These additions support the robustness of the structure and its stability, cushioning the strains produced by the marine currents.
Can be flat or the desired inclination can be replicated, depending on the depth of the marine soil and of the site location.
Upon request, the netting for the cage realization can be also dyed (usually in black).
Our clients can choose from a list of additional services that we offer as in the case of antifouling treatments, which protect and prolong the lifespan of the net installed into water. In fact without these treatments the netting would necessitate an earlier substitution, due to the frequent washing and damages caused by the marine vegetation.
Plus, these erosions are dangerous for the healthy and strong growth of the bred fishes, as they can facilitate the congestion of the space between the nets’ intersections, thus limiting the right oxygenation of the water.
Moreover, on demand we can install zipper onto the superior structure of the cage, to facilitate the underwater access of the divers into the structure.
The zippers can also be utilized as dividers in the case in which the cage is of remarkable dimensions; creating two different departments into the same cage, facilitating both the installation and the various displacements of the structure.
Sacrifical or reinforcement netting
One of the most sensible points to abrasion, considering the floating cage, is next to the buoyant line. In fact, on this upper row, the deterioration is emphasized both by the marine currents and by the heat of the sun and UV rays.
Due to this situation the vertical panels in this point are highly stressed by the continuous alternation between the sea water and the solar radiation.
To overcome this problem, upon request it can be sewed a double net, called sacrificial. This perimetrical netting overlaps the existing structure (usually a meter above and under in respect to the rope which identifies the floating line), guaranteeing its solidity and firmness.
Junction between the vertical and buoyant rope.
In the junctions between the vertical and floating ropes, it is implemented an hand sewn reinforcement with Nylon or Dyneema twine, depending on the raw material utilized for the cage production.
In these points, 20 cm before and afterwards of both the ropes, the conjunction seam is not applied between the ropes and the netting, and is arranged the installation of the net on the four directions of the ropes so to relieve the structure for the many solicitations (tug produced by the marine motion), exclusively on the ropes to protect the netting .
