Stainless steel open thimbles

Stainless open thimbles are used to form reinforced eyelets in rope and cable rings.

The use of open stainless steel thimbles reduces wear on cables and ropes. The thimbles, also called cable lugs, are placed inside the grommet (or slot) of a rope or cable to protect from wear generated by rubbing with hooks, handles, other cables and similar. The correct use of thimbles therefore guarantees the integrity of ropes, cables and ropes over time.

Heavy type open stainless steel thimbles are widely used in the naval sector, but also in all those sectors where mainly stainless steel cables are used, the galvanized thimbles closed at 45° can handle heavy and light duty applications.

CORRECT USE OF THIMBLES:

Make sure that the wire rope adheres perfectly to the throat of the thimble used,
Check the product carefully before each use,
Periodically check the state of wear if exposed to aggressive environments,
Use at temperatures lower than -20°C and/or higher than +80°C can compromise the use of the thimbles,
Any modification, or work carried out after the sale, can compromise the thimble making it unsuitable for work.
